I had a toyota corolla that was one heck of a good little car but the problem was the it was little. Im 6 foot and 200lbs and dont fit well in compacts. I now have a 98 Honda Accord coupe. I really like the car but it keeps stalling and then wont start sometimes for a couple days. I just changed the fuel pump and filter, which was in the tank and by far the easiest one ive ever changed, took about fifteen minutes, and hopefully my problem is solved.

GM obviously has too many brands. They should only have Chevy, for consumer and sport cars. Cadillac for luxury. And GMC for trucks. That's it. What about Buick? Surprisingly, Buick is one of the hottest selling American cars in China. I guess "Blueheads" love Buick's there too. Sell the brand to them, for top dollar. And throw Pontiac in too.

Dont be so quick to blame this on the union, Toyota which is non union pays higher wages with better vacation. (i have family that works at Toyota and friends at GM) Mismanagement created this problem, the Jap manufacturers kept things under control. I will blame the Unions because of people like you,GM has had their hands tied by UAW.Toyota is run by Japanese that looked at our auto industry and cleaned it up. I bet that all the work done at the Toyota Plant is done by half of the workers at a similar GM plant, all because of the closed shop practice of UAW.Unions are out dated because we are a world economy, and cannot compete with non union plants. It cost 86.00 an hr to build an American auto and Toyota is building them in the south for 46.00 an hr.Before I went into the service, I worked at a Union yard, and the cost of building a ship was twice as much as a non union shop, which paid higher wages...Total union bull$hit. I never needed anyone to keep a job for me,and certainly not a union with all their rules and regs.Just my opinion.

over30 is right, they have one good car - the Cobalt. Everything else they make (car wise) is a pointless vehicle. I think they should "cut the fat" , lower ALL wages, and bring their vehicle prices back to reality, as every company should do! There is no god damn way a new truck should cost $45,000!!!!!
Nah come on, the new Malibu won many an accolade and car of the year. The new ZR1? ferrari destroying performance at 100 grande? The New Caddy CTS-V- fastest sedan, holds the record at nurbring, was picked as a better car than the BMW M5. What about the Tahoe and suburban.. These things get as good of gas mileage as one of thos puny awd Volvo xc 90.. and pack alot more capabilities to boot. The Duramax allison combination..The Traverse..
The General is putting out great vehicles NOW, it wasnt in the past, and that , along with mis management and being slack on unions will haunt them for some time.. I mean what kind of company agrees to lifetime medical for union emplyees and thinks theyll return record profits.

And it should also be known the relativity budget priced Grand National Corvette, beat the top of the line Mustang, in all aspects. All this while giving up over 100 hp. Better suspension and weight balance make this possible. The Mustang is an impressive machine but getting 540 hp out of that little 5.4 requires over 20psi of supercharger boost. Any bets on how long that motor holds up?

either way im not willing to pay 45-60K for a new truck........
these companys only have them selves to blame for going under
i also say if you going to have a US name build it HERE in the US
and the 5.4 is a fast reliable engine but my fav gas engine by ford is the 5.8!
my next truck is going to be a F-250 with the 7.3 diesel with the cast iron rods!
