Machine: 2004 YFZ 450
Rider type: trail rider, no racing (except against buddies with raptors).
Terrain: Mostly Michigan where trails are a sandy-dirt mix. Many rocks, stumps and roots. Some mud but not much. Also trail rides in PA and W. Virginia. Again, rocks, stumps and roots are the main obstacles.
Looking for advice on stock replacement tires and rims. Looking at ITP HD's or XCR but would consider Maxxis if anyone thinks they're better. Side wall strength/puncture resistance is very important as my 2 flats thus far have been in the front side walls.
Thanks in advance for your opinions.

I have I-razrs with douglas red lable rims on my Raptor 700. The I-razrs are radial and very tough.

I have the ITP Holeshot GNCC's. They have been great for rough terrain. They're a little heavy but make up for it in ruggedness and quality.

true the I-RZR is a radial design but rough ground chews them up really fast...
i would consider the maxxis razr 2's front and rear they are a 6 ply tire and have a deeper and more agresive tread that than the regular razr. iv seen these tires beat through deserts, rock gardens, and sand washes with never a flat.
if your in alot of rocks and rough ground i also suggest looking into the ITP baja wheels.. since they have that extra ring around the edge to help keep from bending a rim and getting a flat from breaking the bead

thats what i had the original razrs they worked great but after switching to the razr 2's its a big difference and they last a little longer because of the deeper tread but either way for what he is doing a solid 6-ply tire is what he needs tread pattern and brand is all prefrence after that
