I dont know what type of Rattlesnake it was, assume Eastern considering it was WV. Im not sure but I believe it was a female.
I had been wanting a Rattlesnake video for a while, ran into a huge male last summer and didnt have my camera. That snake was aggressive from the moment we rode up on it.

Couple hours after we ran into the snake I saw pretty big Bear.

It was a hellova day.

+1 on the bears, its rare but in the last 5 years I have encountered 2 large brown bears as big as a Geo Metro (car) along the trails in the very early mornings up here in the front range mountains. Each time when I first saw them I thought they were a large rock, until it started moving and running away . Huge Elk are a common sight but for some reason I am not as startled by them as the bears.

An elk wont eat you ... a brown bear will.

I think seeing a bear is awesome, I see Black bear all the time but they aren't a threat to your life so there is no real scare involved most of the time. I'd like to see a mean ass wild animal while out riding.

the only dangerous thing I've had come by me was 2 wolves while bow hunting.. that was pretty neat to have

you might be a redneck if you say "Gun show was full today, ammo going out the door. Bought 900 rnds of 223 lake city brass, for 450.00.. "
