How many hours do you think I should go.
Thanks How are toyxcab. I've heard and read the 50 hr service interval, recommended by Yamaha mechanics and service books. However, I try to never exceed 25 hrs, on my 05 Grizz. But just as important as the changes, is running the right weight oil, for certain times of the year. I run 10-30, from Nov through May, then switch to 20-40 for the remainder. Depends on you're climate. I've got about 1,500 miles on my Grizz, and she might take between 1/4 to 1/2 a quart between changes. Depends on how hard you work or play it. If you do a lot of mudding or deep water crossing, change you're front and rear diff fluids, the same time you change the engine oil. I totally agree with Prince's philosophy, oil is cheap compared with engine and drive train failures. I'd rather have the peace of mind, running clean lubricants, than worry about contaminants.

toyxcab,
That is exactly the same gas mileage that I get on my machine. If I push it hard, 15 mpg, if I take it easy, 18 to 20. Glad it has a large gas tank. I'll bet the newer fuel injected version gets better mileage. It doesn't matter, the enjoyment factor is worth the extra gasoline.

My bike is an '03 660 Grizzly LE and I too might go above what is required,(every 2 months at least, regardless of hrs), for the same reasons as the above posters, but it's served me well over the years with my toys and farm vehicles.
I would not personally sweat 1/4L over that many hrs, I've used that much a couple times in just a weekend of hard riding.
And as another poster mentioned, don't neglect the differential fluids as well. Like cars, probably 90% of the people I know never change or even check 'em. Them fluids break down as well.

And just waiting to see what/if Yamaha is going to do to the next generation Griz.
