went to the Metallica show last night at the Allstate arena in Rosemont IL. This was my 6 or 7th time seeing them.It was a good show. They played 5 songs off of Death Magnetic. None off of Load, Reload or St Anger, and only one off of Ride The Lighting which was kind of a bummer b/c that' s my favorite album. The stage was big, covered most of a basketball court. Crowd was in to it for all of the old stuff and most of the news stuff. All the new songs sounded great live. My favorite off of Death is Cyanide <- awesome song and even better live b/c the hook and the baseline had everyone amped.
Good show, they're still the best.

They were in New Orleans recently but I couldnt go. Never seen one of their show but would like to. That stage is huge.

I really wish I could go, but it just wasn't going to happen...The same goes for AC/DC.

I saw them back on the Justice for all tour. Great show, and the sound was awesome!
They sold out in my area recently. I heard on the radio front row tickets were going for over $1k.
Ride it like its stolen! I am a professional Mickey Mouser.

I really like that seating arrangement - the whole basketball arena feel and less like a grandstand. Maybe I just haven't been to a concert for ages, but how long have bands been doing this?

Metallica has been doing that for a couple years now. I didn't see them the last time they came through but when they came through around Load/Reload they had a similar set up. It makes all the arena seats usefull, but eliminates a lot of floor general admission.
