So i as most of you know , my truck has had it fair share of problems lately ... and after droppin a couple grand into it i decided enough is enough , and I'm on the prowl for a brand spankin new truck.

I have a good deal on a 2009 toyota tundra , 0% apr for 72 months - or a 2009 chevy silverado 1500 crew cab for under 20,000$ and possibly 0% apr.

This may seem like a no brainer to some of you , but you all have to remember , im only 20 and im a chevy guy ... but the tundra is on bad ass truck!

Which do you think i should get and why?

Thanks!

Well work out what your monthly note would be and figure out what you can afford. To be honest the truck market is in the can right now so some good deals can be made. But also keep in mind to check around for used "newish" trucks too. As soon as you drive off the lot in that brand new truck its value will drop significantly so deals can be made on used ones as well.

I think you answered your own question. Stick with what you have. You don't want any (or very little) debt at your age.

I agree , after working 10 hours today , and thinking about it non stop , i went to the dealer , check out some figures , and landed a good deal on a 2003 chevy silverado 1500 ext. cab.

Basically what i have now ,only newer , and certified. so now i have my toy and my daily driver!

Definately stick to a used truck... I bought a brand new '07 Ram last year... Though I LOVE my truck, I am kicking myself now. (I kick myself even harder when I make the payment every month.)

Between what YOURADHERE and PrinceValiant said, they are dead on. Right now, you don't want a brand new truck...

2008 - PAMX Series, tied for 1st so far... October 12th finishes it off!

Im getting it for 10500. Not bad to me. Its a beaut!

*something i HAVE to add to this!*

While getting ready to update my inssurance and such , I called geico (my company now) and got a quote with full coverage on the new truck alone! Amazingly , it was $1600/6 months for full coverage , BUT if i keep my other truck on the insurance as well(liability only) and put the new 03 on with full coverage , the price is only 1500/6 months ... It makes no damned sence to me , but they convinced me to keep my lifted chevy , and just build it up for play!

One thing is to be sure, it's never EVER cheaper to have 2 cars on the insurance vs. one.

Wanna bet?

By me having both of my truck on my insurance is roughly 100$ cheaper than just the new one its self.

its called a "multi-car discount"

So you stand corrected.

I have to agree with Camo-Fox here. A home owners policy also affords some discounts as well with some providers. Of course all insurance is a scam but its something you have to have or your f'ed if something happens.
