Me and the wife are in the process of buying a house. We found one and put in an offer. The sellers countered and we accepted. But when our realtor called us about the changes in the counter, she told us that her and the listing agent found out that the sellers have some sort of litigation on another property that they own. So now we have to wait no longer then ten days for them to hear from their lawyer if they can still sell. Damn! I hate to wait.

If they have a litigation problem on the house you want, you need to take a harder look, with your own attorney

There is good reason to believe there is a lean on the house. Have your lawyer look into it.

We finally agree, now if I could get you to agree on Sara Palin, you could urge some of your liberal friends in the states to vote for McCain!

Not exactly. The lien is on another property that they own. But I guess that if their debt or whatever is too great it may encompass the property I'm trying to buy. Lots of legal mumbo jumbo.

Most likely a second mortgage they could be in default on...when they purchased the other property.
