I'm thinking of replacing the stock tires on my 2006 Bruin 350 4X4 with one of these tires. Which is better for all around use?, mainly trails, some snow and mud. Which is lighter weight?(I don't want to lose too much power). If I go with the mudlites which would be better, the AT or the XL? Also, what do you think about the Mudlite XTRs compared to the 589s and the Mudlite AT and XL
Thanks,
John

the 589s are a mud tire only the mudlites arent as good in the mud but they are better for all around use. Have you looked at the XTRs?

I was considering XTRs as well, how do they compare to the XL and AT mudlites

With only 350ccs to work with, go with the Mudlite XLs. The 589s and XTRs are great tires, but they will drag your machine down a lot more than the XLs. I have owned all three of these tire models.
25" ITP Mudlite XTRs
Uni Air Filter
93 Octane Irving Gas
Dielectric grease
Fresh air in tires monthly
4.6 psi in tires instead of reccommended 4.5
Totalled Red King to get prettier Yellow King
Amsoil synthetics
Anodized aluminum valve stem caps

Thanks for all the help guys. Is the rubber compound soft on the mudlites, I don't want them to wear out too fast.

I agree with cchagros. Go with the AT's. I had the AT's on a Sportsman 400 and they performed very well. The rubber is a little soft to allow good all around performance on all surfaces but I was not concerned about how fast they wore.

cchagros is right, definitely stick to the lighter weight Mud Lites over the 589's. I am not so sure about the AT's vs. XL's though. If you were to go with 25x8-12 XT and 25x10-12 XT, the weights are 4.5 lbs.(front) and 3.2 lbs.(rear) heavier than the same size in the AT. This is only a 15.4 lb increase in overall weight on the quad. The same size 589 tire would run you 7.4 lbs heavier that the XT at a total weight of 23.4 pounds.
The 589 tire seems to be a stronger tire though and will give you longer tread life. I guess if the weight was an issue you could split go for the 589's and cut back on the snacks and loose 10 lbs; then you's never know you had a heavier tire.
