I don't think you have to reject, and i don't think there should be a problem either, but why would you want to run twin filters?

k&n is so thin. if u hold it to the light u can see right thou it, in some spots there are very tiny holes, my k&n is pretty new too. i want a better filter i dont feel getting my carbs cleaned more that i really should just for a little extra proformance. i have a prefilter i run with the k&n, if i didnt have that i whould refuse to use that airfilter. the shop i go to doesnt even bother selling k&n, and suggest to people not to go with k&N. some people may love it but i rather run a foam filter. i ride in sand pits so, thats all i need is a bunch of sand bits in my carbs.

The twin air filters are very good, you may need to tweak your setting a lil but nothing major

I am of the same opinion on cotton gauze style filters. I have used them in powersports applications and am not impressed (they work well in automobiles and I highly recomend them in those applications) The fact is, is that a dual stage foam filter has more filter area per square inch of media than a pleated type filter. Both are about the same work to clean and in dirt bike and ATV applications you should be cleaning the air filter after every ride or every other ride especially if you ride sand. As far as jetting goes, you should be constantly jetting for the differen air temps and humidity but you probably will be ok with maybe just some adjustments to the jet needle clip position.

If you keep a K&N filter clean and oiled you will be fine. I run knockoff K&N's that are 8 ply the K&N's are 4 ply but if they have oil and are clean you should be fine with ANY filter. Like P.V. said no matter what filter you run you should take a buddy out with you that can teach you how to jet your carb fast and right because if nothing else you will need to do it when the seasons change.

I agree, i also ride in sand all the time, and i used to run a K&N filter on my Banshee, BAD CHOICE, after awhile i started noticing loss in power, did a compression test and it was low, checked the inside of the carbs and sure enuff there was sand all over, to make a long story short, i had to rebuild the engine, i'll never use K&N ever again i don't care for the pre-filter either, foam is the way to go.
