I have ridden every brand except the Can Ams, and I can tell you that there are many good quads being built but in my opinion the Arctic Cats are NOW the best and are at the top of the list on innovation, performance and quality.

I'm glad to hear such positive comments about Artic Cats because owners on other sites have complained about Cats NOT starting in cold weather. Their only complaint but a serious one.

Mine starts in cold weather, in upstate NY where I am with mine -20 is sometimes the norm sometimes less, yea the whole thing about no choke I would like one but the thing they are using seems to work I guess, kind of like a primer, I have never had to use it yet just grind her a few seconds and she jumps to life. It starts about as easy as my Hondas that have chokes. I use Stabile in all my fuel all year long, it helps with condensation in fuel, that could be the problem with folks that have problems starting. ??????

Hope this helps.

I am asking who you think makes the best. I have made my mind up. Thats the point. Your not going to change my mind I just wanted to know what others thoughts are. Do you get it now. you say it doesnt matter what you say I'm going to like AC. Your right, but I want to know what others think. Understand.

AC T-Cat does beat a renegade 800. seen it with my own eyes. Waynes Atv in Tennessee lined them up on the strip and the ren got destroyed. the longer the race the farther the distance. I also know you go right ahead and put a chip in an outty 800 and a pipe with the v-twin small truck engine that is in the t-cat i know some people who have altered the t-cat to 1600ccs.

AC is looking at R&D at the T-cat motor to put it in the prowler and had more ccs. about 1200 or so. Remember, AC started the displacement war when they dropped ccs in there sleds. Now, they are starting with ATVs.

I have my choice on ATVs. I like a few others, but AC is mine. I just want to know what you think or what is your opinion on who is the best and why?

UTVs such as prowler and rhino can go much more places than an atv. I have seen a prowler and a rhino go up almost a 50 degree slope and not even slip. (Its called the hole in the earth in Oneida,TN and is crazy steep. I took my trv up a little one no big deal ,but i'm too chicken to go up the steep one I've been in life star before)

LOL, you should have put this topic in the fight forum, Me I have a 400 express Polaris and I like its speed and I like the thought that I can go where I want to and at my speed. It goes over 65 and climbs every hill that I want to take it up.

Some minds are like concrete, thoroughly mixed up and
permanently set.

I did not know it would be so heated, but then again if I asked what is better Chevy trucks or fords it would have been the same thing.

Utvs are really wide and tall and they are unstable in some terrain. On an ATV you can lean off the bike, but in a utv you are buckled in (if you are not your an idiot.) my pap's nephew was climbing a hill and it flipped 4 times and then the seat broke. he broke 3 bones in his spine and hurt his spleen, but he will live had he not had his belt he could have been crushed.

The prowler is the same width for the most part, but is a little taller to support a thick roll cage. i like that polaris razar, even though i hate polaris bikes it is a close thing to an atv. it is really tight to sit in for me. i rode one that had tracks on it that is cool.

Who makes the worst and why?
And what does the AtV industry need to improve, fix, or adjust?

The best: Arctic Cat
I ride Arctic Cat and so does all of my family. I have owned 2 and the Cats have been reliable in every situation. They are big bikes with explosive power and have industry leading clearance. They have a ATV for everyone. Utv prowler, 366, and 700 crusier, and the crazy v-twin 1000 thundercat. They have the speedrack system that has many applications.
In addition to MADE IN THE USA!

The worst:
This would be a toss up in my mind. I think Polaris has some bad traits that I dont like, but I also dont like suzuki or honda. I guess the worst would have to be honda. I understand they are rugged but they have yet to help the rider not to completely beat to death. Most AtV makers have gone to Independent Suspension and big boar motors, but I havent seen honda go away from the rancher and gather some size and strength.

what does the AtV industry need to improve, fix, or adjust?
Electric Power steering not just locking the diff and it kicks in, but when your in 4wd. I get into some deep stuff and it would be nice. It would be nice for rocky and difficult terrain as well.

(this is just my opinion please no attacks on anyones comments or ideals)

last i heard AC only makes 1 motor and since motors are most of the cost of an ATV then they arent made in america since they have zuki motors

They make the 650 H1 motor and the 1000cc motor. I'm not sure, but I think they might make the 366 motor. I am not sure on that. They buy the crate motor from suzuki for their models. They just expanded their Thief River Fall plant and look to be moving into making all there motors. I think 09 is the year they talked about dropping suzuki. They feel that their R&D department have made better engines for their bikes that create more power and save on more gas.

Back to the original thought presented at the start of this thread, since I have been visiting this site, there have been 4 outstanding threads on this subject directly and indirectly. Go back in to the last 6 months of the Utility and Fight Club segments and read the following threads johnsonc22 and give us your opinion.
Buying new Utility - Chrisy2j
Best Utility Quad - Chrisy2j
Reliability - kmdad
Rincon vs any takers - rincon-newby
You may not have been on this sight long enough to have seen these, but take the time to go all the way back to one year ago and catch our drift on this forum. Make one up to date and we'll continue the discussion with your input. Are you game?
