we don't know yet I have found out that they don't have the money to do any thing with it yet. But in march they are going to start removing The New Carissa. You are quite welcome on the pic's, ever chance I get my camera back I will take pic's my sister love my camera just as much as I do. I do hope its not Vandalized are stripped are cut up for fire wood too. would like to know more about it my self, like where it was built and where it was to go. Who was the captain and what kind of cargo was on it and how old is it.

casperBrittain,
If a website is established to collect funds for moving the wreck to a permanent location, let me know. I would be willing to help. Can't let this piece of history get destroyed.

if they do have a site I have not herd of it yet, but I do know that some of the people have been calling and asking if they could get out to it on quads, I did tell them they could not and if they wanted a better look just pull up ATVsport.com and put a search in for the ship wreck. The bay area chamber of commerce did and liked the pic's and they had some other people pull it up and now the pic's are on other web sites, complements of far west 4-wheel rentals. YeeeeeeeeeHaaaaaaaaaa.

Just south about 3/4 of a mile from the New Carissa, aonther ship was found. I did get some close ups of the new found ship, some are saying that the sea wall was washed away for it to be found. We have had lots of ships beached here but this one is by far the most interesting, becouse it is made out of wood, and its not a little ship ether.

as soon as I can i will post more pic's. But it takes forever to load them up.

Hey they found Noah's Ark.

Tried to get The Weather Channel video for you Casper, but could'nt get it to load. Here's another one I found though: Old ship video. As we say in the Northeast: "wicked cool".
