bbmasters,
You bet!!! Great place to ride. Try Black Mountain, Mormon Flats, Goller Wash(SP ?),Last Chance Canyon, Sheep Springs and many more. Living in the desert gives me many opportunities to explore. All these places are accessible from Highways 14 and 395, North of Mojave and near Ridgecrest, Ca.. About 45 minutes North of where you rode. I have some motorcycle buddies that have taken me and my Grizzly to places that I wouldn't go myself. Lots of rocky off camber hills many rutted muddy trails, (we've had a great deal of rain this year) steep ups and unnerving downs. Ha,ha. All good!

bbgmaster,
Sorry about the accident. I did mention that those areas are great to ride in but have their challenges. I wish I would have known you were in Ridgecrest, I would have bought you dinner, however, sounds like you were in no condition to enjoy it. Hope you heal quickly. Next time you are going to be in the area send me a "PM" and I'll give you a phone number.

sorry havnt been on in a while but the good news is im healing up and wont have to go under the knife!.. how it happened, here we go was following ym roommate out on a side trail leaving the canyon we were camping in. there was a bush/tree
on either side of the trail and no where else to go but strait and not nearly enough room to stop at the speeds in which we were traveling aprox(50-55). the obstacle.. about a 35ft circle about 4 foot deep along the endges and about 3-4ft across. it had been carved out by someone contiously driving in a circle so the center was still ground level. then it happened.. i saw my room mate grab the brakes but it was too late for him i saw him start to go cart wheeling then i moved over a little to the left and and gassed it for all it was worth almost cleared the the entire berm but my front tires hit the last lip of it and tossed me over the bars as i was lawn darting through the air i am still watching my roommates bike tumble and him cartwheeling like a rag doll then a sec later i hit the ground and my vacation was over
magnum we make this trip 2x a year in april and october like i said earlier if i dotn egt to deploy because of my injury i will be back out in october and ill def hit you up. it would be nice to meet and ride with some of the people on here

bbgmaster,
I can only imagine what you two went through. That area is so peppered with mine shafts. Would really ruin you riding experience to enounter one of those. Outside Ridgecrest there have been numerous occasions that young kids have found themselves down a mine shaft. Some were luck enough to be rescued and some were just recovered.
When I saw that you were riding 50 to 55 mph I went to your "Profile" and realized that you have a machine capable of doing that. I, on the other hand, have a utility quad that is not able to do that. I am up in age and just enjoy the scenery while I am out in the hills. Ha,ha.
The "Welcome Mat" is always out. When you are in the area the invitation for dinner is there for your and yours.
I presume you are in the military. If you "are deployed" be safe and thank you and your buddies for your service to our great country.
Very Respectfully,
Sid
