Buying a GPS

Hey
I looking for a GPS for my truck I want traffic updates an internal battery and spoken direction with street names not just "turn left in 100 feet" I want "turn left onto Smith street" and a good size screen.
I dont care about brand and will spend up to $350-$400 if needed.
I visited CNET.com for some reviews but you know how that goes they all have good and bad points so I want some real world feedback.
Thanks

RE: This should be sticky'd ----

WARNING:
No matter how awesometastic your ATV is, there is still absolutely no correlation between the actual performance/speed of your ATV and the percieved performance (What you think).
Sounds like someone shotoff the mouth then get smoked in a race!:W

RE: The dumbing down of todays new ute riders.

I find myself being with you 100% on all the issues you talked about.
For me half the fun of riding is me being in control of the quad its no different than driving a sports car you need to control and feel what the machine is doing.
You did a thread on sport riders taking up the kazoo by not getting much for their money which is true but in return for the lack of technology they are able to be in control of the quad (no engine brake ect)
That said I still choose UTE over sport.

RE: Flat Screen T.V.

BUT..there are some very good performing LCD sets. Just be aware of the internal scalers, motion blur for sports and video games, stuff like that.
This motion blur does it have to to with the hertz?
I see the new sets are talking up the 120Hz and 480Hz?
Which is better??

RE: Flat Screen T.V.

Zigafool, wassup?!
For that kind of lighting condition you'll want a bright tv. Plasma is likely going to be your best bet. For $2300 MSRP the 50" Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ85U is a great set. Can prob find it a little under your price point on sale. Got great reviews in the Oct 2008 Home Theater test. 50" is a good size for the distance you'll be sitting. For the money, you'll be hard pressed to find a better performing TV. It's up there with the Pio Kuro. Not quite there, but close.
As far as DLP, right now you can't get a better deal. I saw at a local store a 73" Mitsubishi for $1699 on Black Friday. Killer set at a KILLER price. Now the downside to dlp is the color wheel and hte bulb. Some can see rainbow effects from the color wheel and the bulb will need to be replaced every couple of years or so at $300 a pop. I also keep hearing that DLP technology is going away. People want flat screens. LED DLP technology and other versions of DLP look promising, but they aren't cheap and the technology isn't proven nor perfected yet. IMO, I'd grab a DLP. Can't touch the screen size for price right now. They do have a little more maintenance with the bulb and not quite as brights as plasma or LCD and doesn't have quite the viewing angle of plasma. However, if you can somewhat control the light in the room or just live with it, there isn't a better deal right now. WIll DLP go away soon? I dunno..
Been real busy this year so my riding the King has been few and far between add in deer season and a new house well riding got kicked to the side for now.
As for the DLP I had been worried about it going away with so few selling so Ill stay away from that but agree 100% they are huge in size for the money.
I thought that Plasma was bad for a bright room?
Im checking into the one you mentioned Panasonic Viera TH-50PZ85U
Ill get back with you.
Thanks

RE: Flat Screen T.V.

Damn I have been gone for months and I come back and the first post I have to thanks TheSheMAN for the advise!!!!!!!
Nice looking set up you have.
Thanks for the input Im getting ready to pull the trigger on a new tv the room its going into has tons of light (2 sliding class doors on the sunny side of the house and two skylights) so im thinking with going LCD Im setting 8 to 9 feet away and it will be wall mounted.
Wanting to spend up to $2200.
Would you recommend something?
I had a Vizio (plasma) but I didnt care for it
I also tried some Protron cheapy its been ok for the money
Do you know the deal with DLP is?
I have been doing some research on them because of price and I beleive they are improving with the led lights in them but it seems people shy away from them
