RE: What's the better deal????

If your going for a dirtbike i would look for a 250. Ive ridden plenty of 125's and 250's, and the 125 has enough power to have fun on, but i would much rather ride a 250. JMO .. Although that RM does look pretty clean.

Only times ive been riding all summer is either my pw80 or borrowing a crf450.
(BTW dirtbikes are soooo much more fun than quads, not gonna lie).
My YFZ is still in pieces in my garage so i still dont know what im going to do with this.

RE: Carb Jetting

Jet kits arent even worth it for 450s. I went threw an entire kit, and still needed different jets. Your best bet would of been to go to the dealer and get a bunch of different sizes. It ends up being alot cheaper and you can be sure your getting one that work.
I believe im running 175 main, 48 pilot, 3rd clip, and 2 turns on the a/f screw with my mods.
My dyno kit i ordered had about 5 different jets that were SMALLER than stock.

RE: 400ex best exhaust to run?

My friends 400ex originally had a slip on two brothers exhaust, no lid k&n filter, and jetted...
He replaced it with a full HMF, and it def feels like it hits harder, and he could keep up in a drag a little bit better.
But overall it depends on if you want to spend the extra money.
I personally wont buy another slip on after i got one for my wolverine, IMO its worth it to get the full up front. Because once you need a new piston and ect.. the new header will work better than stock for a modded engine.

RE: best full exhaust for 450's.

The new style Venom, N-motion (JSR) 9 inch, and DASA produce the most HP in YFZ's.
DASA blows the packing real easy (like 5 hours) from what i hear, so thats another thing to consider.
Ive only had to repack my LRD once.

RE: *STOLEN* 2007 Yamaha YFZ 450 SE & 97 CR250r

GOT MY 450 BACK!!!!
Thanks to me, my buddy ryan, my sister and her boyfriend.
Cops not even needed, except to hopefully arrest the people that took it..
needs new bars, levers/perch/brake/fluid thing, steering stem possibly - need to check it out, tie rods, and the fenders are pretty trashed too.

*STOLEN* 2007 Yamaha YFZ 450 SE & 97 CR250r

My quad was stolen early this morning..
Last seen Dracut, Ma 01826. 3:30-4:00 am. People saw/heard it flying down the main roads ( Lakeview Ave / Mammoth rd area )
It was pushed down the street and brought to a house down the street ( have pics of the tracks they left going into there yard. So we know who did it, but the quad/bike arent there and the cops cant do anything.
Cops are semi-helping, but they cant really do much.
Black fenders red flames. Carbon fiber exhaust. pro armor bumper, maxxis rzr'mx's on chrome douglas rims, and more
Any info, let me know.

RE: Debating on a new YFZ450R?

If you can get the new R for under $7000, i think its worth it IF you are set on leaving the quad stock. For the EFI, aluminum frame, and good stock suspension.
But the orginal YFZ can be found for under $5500-$6000 ( have even seen $4999) . Saving the possible $2000+ , and adding parts with the money can make the original YFZ a better overall quad than the new R.
Houser +2 a-arms - $500
Shock revalve for your weight, riding style- $300 ish for fronts
Full Venom exhaust- $500
K&N filter, FCI intake, jetting - $250
ITP tires - 300
For $1850 (using the money you save) you will have a better quad for the money.. and everyone likes customizing there ride.
As for riding alone, try to join an ATV club in your area to set-up rides and events.

RE: KTM 525XC or Keep my Honda

^^^ too bad i did-
my motor is dead. lol Im pretty sure the crank bearing went..
Time for a 09 kx250f monster edition :E
LMAO, and BTW it was alot less than i expected-- got the valves serviced and part of my spark plug broke off into my motor, causing the grinding noise.
And btw, i dont bother posting tech questions about my 450 here, cuz only a select few know what there talking about (prince, drummer, cc, ect..) Where as i can get 100's of good quality answers over there.
..Now im back to spanking the other 450s.
