RE: Best Handgun Caliber

A 12 Gauge is more than enuff for home defense, enough massive power to knock anybody down, i don't care whose it is, even if the perp is high as a kite, just ask Tony Montana, lol.

RE: Best Handgun Caliber

15 rounds for a .45 pistol is perfect, yes i agree the .45 is more powerful than 9mm, no argument there, but unfortunately most of the 45's have less than 10 rounds capacity. However let's analyze for a minute the typical scenario where the average joe is most likely to use his gun, which is at his house at night when he and his family are asleep, somebody breaks in, he wakes up and grabs the .45 he keeps in the drawer and confronts the drug crazed pervert, but wait, the felon is not alone, and our unlucky guy realizes his gun only packs 7 rounds x clip, and has no time to look for more ammo, he could find himself in a very tight spot, and what if the bad guys are packing? forget about it, he's dead meat. for that reason i prefer a hi-cap 9mm anytime, personally, i have a 33 round Magazine on my glock at home, cause when i go to bed at night i sleep better knowing i have more to give.

RE: Best Handgun Caliber

For an auto, max charges in a 45 Auto with the 185 grain hp have been shown to be a consistent one shot psycho killer stopper. That would be my choice. For a revolver, 357 Mag with max loads and a 125 gr hp has proven over time to be the one of the best one shot psycho stoppers ever. IMHO the 9m is a wimpy cartridge, and I would not trust my life to it. The bullet is to light for complete tissue damage. Too many stories of perpetrators having several 9mm rounds capped into them and still coming on to do the shooter damage. The whole idea of a defense round is to stop an aggressor with one shot, and the 9mm falls short. The newer calibers I have no experience with and no data on, so I cannot comment. Shot placement is what in reality determines a one shot stop, regardless of the caliber, now with that said, i personally feel you have more chances of hitting vital organs with a 17 round pistol in 9mm than with 7-8 in .45 ACP, IF you have the shooting skills of the average Joe, but if you are a top notch marksman you can the do job with a .22

RE: Best Handgun Caliber

The caliber wars have been debated endlessly, it's always been the typical .45 vs .40 vs 9mm vs .357, the way i look at it is that i much rather have a 17 round 9mm handgun than a 7-8 round .45 or a 6 rounder .357 magnum anyday of the week. T.T.... where you been hiding, still pullin teeth?:) My Browning has a 16 capacity. YO Willie, nah dude, i haven't pulled teeth out for several years now, remember, i am endodontist not a general practitioner, anyways you should get rid of that browning and get a real gun instead, like a Glock, ;)

RE: I'm back...(couple more pics of the truck)

I'm not taking anything away here, but... HE didn't do it, he paid a shop to do it. Anyone with that amount of cash to spend can get something like that. Now, if all the work was done by himself..THEN it's impressive. Now, at his age it wasn't HIS cash that was spent. Just read back through the thread, and THEMAN does make a good point. For 38 grand, was this job completely farmed out to the restoration shop, or is there a list of things that you guys did yourselves? What did you actually do to the truck? Either way, its a beautiful truck though. Yes its true i did not do the assemlby part of my truck. However, i was the one to strip it down to the frame (cab off and all) and sanded it from its original state. I know every inch of that truck just as well as the guy who worked on it. I do not plan on taking anything for granted at all. I worked hard saving to buy something that was even worth restoring and i got lucky finding what i did. But as for the cost, part of the truck was a graduation present while the other part I am slowly paying back to my parents (as much as a college kid can) so it is my money. And prince, i plan on holding on to this truck for the rest of my life. Whenever i get married the title is going back into my moms name that way just encase money is tight the wife can't make me sell it. I'm actually thinking about getting a custom license plate that says PRENUP. These varmints here are just fcuking with your mind, don't let these punks get away with it.

RE: New ATVMagblog post from "PrinceV"

Prince, something you wrote down on your blog caught my attention, you wrote: "In a lot of cases the Chinese frame geometry/suspension, especially in the youth atvs, it is superior to some of the top brands" i am wondering where did you get this information from?, i mean, was there a comparison between the chinese and japanese brands? or how exactly you came to this conclusion?.

RE: blasterfan's mouth breathing spawns yet another thread

Dunes- still 2 stroke Drags- Still 2 stroke Hill climb- still 2 stroke Endurance races- mostly 2 strokes Dirt Rider Mag did a test recently last year- what layed faster lap times- 2 strokes completely across the board. FMX- 2 stroke Stunt bikes- 2 stroke World record jumps- all 2 stroke then why in the shell are ppl not buying two strokes anymore if they are obviously superior. and you are the only person i know of that claims a two stroke will go longer on a rebuild. true a two stroke rebuild is alot easier then a thumper but they need more maintenance then a four stroke. i dont give two flying effs wat you say but i dont know one person that rides a two stroke that doesnt have to do more maintenance then a four stroke rider. face it old buddy its evolution. two strokes are no longer better. they were better in the eighties and im starting to think your pee sized brain is still there. I don't care what anybody says here, the inherent design of the 2 stroke is superior compared to the 4-stroker when it comes to power delivery, 2 cycles vs 4 cycles, simple physics, you can moan and cry all you want in favor of a 4 stroker, but the fact remains, a 4 stroke engine will never be able to compete with an engine that works twice as fast, period. Take a look at the latest generation 2 stroke engine, the new Rotax 600 H.O. e-tec from ski-doo, and see for yourself what a modern 2 cycle engine looks like, but don't just look, READ.

RE: blasterfan's mouth breathing spawns yet another thread

blasterfan is now oficially a bulltisher? dind ding ding we have a winner thats exactly what i was going to say and on top of all this i have seen these things run against pretty moded 450's and still walk away from a 450 dude you are out of your mind!! why do you think something so old still cost so much is because they are the best! which is exactly why you see them at the top of every race series right? From what I can see the trend has been to switch to 4-strokes, but beyond that, OF COURSE you won't see a manufacturer or dealership sponsored team riding a 2 stroke that hasn't been made for many years. They want the riders on something that can be bought in their showrooms TODAY. Its the best advertising available. Why advertise something you cannot sell? I don't know if a 250R or 330R could be competitive on the track today or not, but where power is concerned, absolutely. The fastest machines up Olds Hill when I was there last year were still 2 strokes, unless the 4 strokes were modded to the point of being unreliable. Them and only then, could they stay with the likes of the Banshees. If there was ever a need for torque, by the way, its when you have to climb a mountain of nothing but sand. TTP, you live there. Am I getting this right? Blasterfan, you have gone from being the ultimate champion of 2 stroke quads to a hater....all in the name of defending the quad you have today. Nice waffling! Yes CC, for seriously modified engines the 2 stroke it's still the unquestionable the king of the hill here at glamis. But when it comes to play bikes, thumpers give the 2 strokers a run for their money. As far as Blasters go, they are mostly ridden by the guy's girlfriends or you see them parked to the side watching the bad boyz race.
