RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

Beautiful day to spend 7 hours on the driveway under my heep to replace the whole clutch, slave thow out bearing, intermediate pipe etc... Took it for a on road, and mild local off road test. All was good, even better shifting than before. Still want to try to hook up an e-brake, re-tighten stuff and I should be good to go.

RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

Thanks! jhess, on my hydraulic clutch it's a combo slave/throw out bearing that is leaking inside the bell housing. That one part I've seen range around $100.00. Since i got to take the trans out, I'll just replace everything. A complete master clutch kit I got is just $200.00. Thanks, but those gears won't help me. Unfortunately the weather looks rainy this weekend. I'm gonna get wet and grimey.

RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

Well it's not a major a leak. But it is in the bell housing. Got to flex the suspension at least. Could have gone a little more. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f356/Intrudertlr/Transforming%20the%20Jeep%202/0823091752.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f356/Intrudertlr/Transforming%20the%20Jeep%202/0823091753.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f356/Intrudertlr/Transforming%20the%20Jeep%202/0823091759.jpg http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f356/Intrudertlr/Transforming%20the%20Jeep%202/0823091800.jpg

RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

I'll check the clutch fluid level today and see how bad and if it's leaking inside or outside the bell housing. Sucks because the synchros in my trans are kinda junk. The trans in my red parts Heep (sitting on it's axle housings now) shifted real nice. So if it's not leaking bad do i wheel it carrying a bottle of fluid? Take it apart r and r clutch parts with the current trans? Or pull the trans out of the red Heep and put in the green Heep with new clutch parts? Just when i thought I was almost done!

RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

Drove it to work the last couple nights, all was seeming good until.... the clutch let off felt different when i got to worklast night. Sure enough no clutch action in the morning. almost no fluid in the res. I added fluid to get it home. :M

RE: Drinking games

Mostly Quarters and @$$hole in say, my early 20's, early 1990's. Yeah it was fun. Last time was about eight years ago. A guy got so drunk he almost pissed on my living room floor. Not cool.

RE: going going gone

That sucks, but I hear you. Like you said, it is a discouraging situation about owning and riding an ATV (or anything motorized and for off road use) in our area. I went years in my 20's and 30's, without any kind of toys (ATV's, streetbikes, fast cars, Jeeps, etc...). Had other, mostly priorities, and intrests at the time.

RE: What new feature would you like to see developed on Utes?

If you look at the new Can Am's they have a air compresor and air ride Got to check that out. I always thought that would be a great idea. And have like 3 modes/settings, mud (raised), rock crawling, off camber, hills, etc.. (auto leveling), and sport (lowered and firmed).

RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

Finally I got to drive it down the road this morning. Got it up to 50 mph and all was good considering no shocks or front swaybar is hooked up yet and the front end is eyeball alligned. I'll get the shock mounts welded this weekend and be ready for a good test/break something run.

RE: Someone Should Have Done a Backgroud Check Maybe!

This pisses me off! "Wilson was arraigned in Woburn District Court on July 6 and was released on $1,000 cash bail. He was ordered to stay away from the victim, witnesses and anyone else under 16 years of age." WTF!

Yea it is/was. The pic is from before I put the 1 inch motor mount lifts and t-case drop in. It is better now.

RE: My Jeep becoming more of a toy

I got home from work Sat morning, did a 5 hour energy shot and got the axle and drive shaft in (ended up being awake 28 hours). I used straps to compress the rear suspension and the driveshaft had over and inch before bottoming out. http://i51.photobucket.com/albums/f356/Intrudertlr/Transforming%20the%20Jeep%202/driveshaft.jpg Then I jacked up the rear for full droop. The driveshaft was bound up hard at the CV joint. So i put in the mm lifts in. It helped, but still a little bindy, so I put the t-case spacers back in. Screw it, it's done as far as I'm concerned. When are both rear tires going to be off the ground anyways. i still expect the rear springs to sag/bend in anyways. Now i have to re adjust the fan shroud, do brake lines, shock mounts, recheck every bolt for tightness, and add fluids. Hopefully weather next weekend is good.
