RE: 2003 chevy 2500HD

On a serious note,I wonder why your insurance is so high? Have you had a lot of tickets? Wrecks? No. I have 2 tickets, back when i was 17 (4 years ago). that's it .. no accidents, no nothing!

The only thing possible I see is that they group all diesel trucks together in you're state. Are they registered commercial or what.We have diesel cars here that get low registration and insurance rates, because of economy. no, they don't group them all in one. It's just because im a 20 yr old male... which to me is sexist, and age discrimination. I thought both those were illegal? They would be illegal if you would quit cross-dressing!Quit wearing your hair in a bun! Quit smoking....thats whats causing the high rates!"Cough"gursh-Cough,Hack::B that makes total sense! think about how you type moron. it'd be illegal if I QUIT cross dressing? I know you like it and all, but I have to quit sometime ;)

RE: 2003 chevy 2500HD

no, 600 a month is only the insurance. I currently pay 270/month for my silverado ... which is actually more expensive than the truck payment! The reason it's so high for me is my age. I'm just under 2 weeks before i turn 21. My driving record is perfect! 2 tickets -speeding and improper stop (4 years ago, off my record now). No accidents, DUI's, reckless drivings, NO NOTHING! And here I thought age discrimination was illegal ... apparently not. That still doesn't answer the question. Why is it more than double to insure a diesel powered truck? That's all I can tell you, because that's all I know. I don't work for the ins. companies... I don't like being phucked over, but I've called so many different insurance companies it's not funny ... And willie, it can't be about smoking. If it was that, your insurance would be sky high compared to mine because you smoke another man's d!ck everynight. I wonder how you're wife would feel. You will never be able to quit,...I am beginning to think your a loser!Better you than me! You aint man enough to quit smoking!:( that hurts SOO much coming from you willie

RE: New blog posting, CPSC to regulate ROVs (SxS's)

..... But isn’t that the purpose of an ATV, to see what you can do? This is the kind of reaction i would expect out of an attorney defending the moron that is in court suing the manufacturer. The reason behind getting an ATV is to be able to go out and explore places that vehicles aren't allowed. To be able to enjoy the outdoors, or to use as a vehicle to assist your way of living. If you decide to race, jump, stunt, etc an ATV you should assume all responsibility for any injuries that occurred during the incident. Not be an irresponsible piece of society, and try to sue the company. I could see if there was a justified reason to the accident, like faulty welds on the roll cage, causing the rollcage to burst and being hurt. But when you decide to try and climb a 40* grade, at an angle and roll, that's your own dumbass fault. How many racers have you seen sue Honda, KTM, Polaris, Yamaha for an accident because they cased a jump, or flipped in the whoops?! NONE! oh wait ... it was their decision to hit that jump, so they can't sue the company for it, right?

RE: 2003 chevy 2500HD

We had a Yukon Denali with the 6.0. Pretty powerful motor but I'd try to hold out for a diesel if I were you. the diesel is a long ways out. insurance on a diesel for me right now is over 600/month ... not good. but if i come across a boat load of money, i would deff. buy one, simply for the power. I don't think i will be getting the 2500HD either. Ill just sink the money into my truck to make it how i want it and still get way better gas mileage!

RE: GM

What color SS is he lookin at? My friend had a Blue one,it was nice and had pretty good power in it. Those ZR1's are some nice rides,if I didn't have kids I would be looking into something like that. It is a the black (with silver trim) intimidator edition! thing looks sexy as hell. But I talked to him today when I was at work (im a 2nd shifter) and he said he's not sure that's what he is going to get.. (I think talking to him last night about him needing/wanting 4X4 sunk in) and that he was at a dealer looking at other trucks. So the SS might be outta the picture, but if it ISN'T I will deff take some pics, and do a little review on it.

RE: GM

but back on topic, the silverado SS is BAD ASS! that truck is insane. My buddy might be going to get one tonight, and if he does i will be sure to post some pics of it. And if you happen to have a few "extra" bucks sitting around, you can buy yourself a nice ass ZR1. Nothing like bringing a super car out when your company was went belly up 2 times now .. :S

First: Prince! Some great pics of your farm equipment, and maintenance.2nd,what is the Cat tractor used for?.WE have had no real good luck with Western Star on long hauls, coast to coast.THe Pete's hold up better on long hauls for us.You have to have a "real" truck to make the Mtns, week after week... Western Starsa are beasts. They do ok on the long hauls, but their forte is things like overweight applications, like logging. Most of the trucks used up in logging country are Western Stars these days. As far as long haul, over the road stuff, I like KW, Volvo, and Pete. Not true around here. almost ALL logging trucks in northern wisconsin/U.P. Michigan are Pete's. I also see some nice KW's being used in the woods. but hands down the best OTR truck is a PETERBILT - no competition PERFORMANCE wise, but money is another thing ..

2003 chevy 2500HD

Went and test drove it today, then went to the bank to make sure all was good- which it was. has the 6.0 GAS. EXT cab, 4X4. Has anyone ever had one? I see on KBB they say MPG's are 10-11 highway .. and I just don't see that being true. It has to be better than that, IMO. Are they right? They also say my 03' silverado 1500 only gets 16 highway, which is a complete BS piece of information . a little assistance on this, please?

RE: GM

those 7.3's are bullet proof! Just last weekend I went and checked out a 2004 F-250 Super duty. Truck was clean as hell, only had 72,000 miles on it. nice 8" suspension lift with 38's on it. But the suspension was a BDS, which I don't like at all. Damn good deal too, till I found out it was a 6.0 ... I walked away after that. SIDE NOTE!!! Then I went and looked at an STI .. had 1000 miles on a brand new motor. I told the sales man right out I wanted to see paper work for the motor, and all the reciepts from subaru - he misteriously lost them. Then I said the drive train was beat to ****, and he didn't want to hear it. (new motor in a 2006 STI .. obviously it was beat/launched a lot!) He insisted it was perfectly fine, so i said I want a 1 yr warranty on the drive train .. he wouldn't budge so once again i walked away laughing at him.

RE: Is it time to get out of Afghanistan

Blaster is lamenting what he hears around the shop.He got the score backwards.Truth is,there are more kids killed every day by gang violence in the US than in Iraq or Afghanistan.NEW ORLEANS has the largest murder rate and St Louis is second.Over 300 killed this year in N.O......maybe we should pull out of New Orleans? this is so true. In milwaukee (the city next to me) there is more gang violence than over there are well. People are getting murdered in broad day light, for no "apparent" reason. Crime rates have sky rocketed in the last 5 years around here, and it isn't getting any better.. it sucks.

RE: New family member, but an old friend

Nice. Better get some mud on it. It just looks to new and shinny. Do you remember the bashing I took with my new Sportsman by not haveing any mud on it? Mudholes have become "hard to come by" here. All the trail systems now have bridges built over the real mud, or have been rerouted to go around. If you get caught straying off the trail to tackle one, you can get in some serious trouble from Fish n Game (tree huggers). I'm sure it'll still get plenty muddy, and I'll take some pics just for you Sportsman4X4. If I do run across some opportunities to submarine a quad, I'll swap with whoever is on my King Quad and go for it. that's the same song and dance that we have going on over here.. Even though I don't have a 4x4 yet. The mud is really hard to come by, and everything has been intentionally avoided/rerouted by DNR so they can eliminate some fun from the ride, and it's another reason for them to phuck with you-give you tickets. I saw a guy earlier in the year swamp his quad in an "off trail" mud hole ... DNR came acrossed him and laid the tickets on. They rack up fast from what i saw ... so it's not a good idea to stray off the path!

iraq-1 USA-0 ...... I know of a few people who sacraficed alot there, no need for that. I second that. I have numerous good friends over there now, and many won't be the same physically or mentally.

RE: GM

hey Jhess, On sunday i raced an EVO8 on the strip, and i was running a farm field next to him. I have an exhaust, GWM, jetted... I started at 300 ft, and he was infront of me at 1/8 mile. But the buick regal he was racing (that I didn't see at the time) Got beat not only by him, but by me too!!!!!! So maybe my 450 will outrun your truck too ;) I'd race trucks with you jhess. and all i have is a 03' silverado EXT. 5.3 .. not chipped, so you should beat me b/c #1- you have .1 L more then me #2- you have duals #3- you think you motor is tuned to your exhaust cuz ur mechanic said to buy a performance chip ... :S have you even ran the strip???

RE: GM

Jhess, let me set the record straight on your truck. yes, the FX4 is nice, but it's not fast. 5.4's are just another engine from ford that will have cam phaser problems, knock to all hell, and rob you of HP. I'm not a mopar fan AT ALL, but I think the hemi is way outta your league as far as speed. Just because you have Duals and a chip, doesn't mean your producing hella HP. Not to mention the fact that you're old as hell, so you baby your whips like they are gold (kinda like how you talk them up). SO enjoy your luxury cruise, and the nice sound it produces - but stop talking it up like you run it at the strip and it's a 10 sec truck. Kthxbai
