RE: I got a new quad..

cchagros,
I'll give updates as frequently as I can. I think it depends whether I am in a full body cast or not. Ha,ha. Took the Grizzly out for a while. I couldn't believe the difference in the two machines. I almost got off to see why the engine had quit. Lo-and-behold I was going 30 miles an hour. (Just a joke) It is going to be a challange to learn different techniques to keep the wheels on the ground. The XX wants to raise the front end all the time. Is that a good thing? Ha,ha.

RE: I got a new quad..

high octane junkie,
Congtats on the new machine. Sounds like it will be great for what ever you use it for. Yamaha sure has a good reputation for quality machines.
I've had my new Honda TRX700XX for two weeks now and still trying to cope with "fire-breathing" acceleration. This machine is one quantum leap beyond my Grizzly 660.
Ride safely,
Sid

RE: CPSIA could spell trouble.

In talking to the local dealer, I was informed that they will not even be able to order parts for existing machines. The Honda Rep. was in the store and confirmed that point. No "Grandfather Clause" as one might expect.
Thanks for the sample letter.

RE: Anybody Heard of AMR Racing Products ?

GreyGrizz,
Sorry, I can't answer your question but I am curious on how the CDI box got fried? I have the same quad and would like to understand the circumstances under which the module was damaged. "Boy Oh Boy" that stuff is expensive!!!
Thanks for your help. Hope you can find an affordable replacement.

RE: 2002 Yamaha Grizzly 660 4x4 Help

bowhuntersrave,
I have a 2005 Grizzly 660. I ran into the same problem when I tried to use the differential locker (diff-lock) for the first time. The large service manual mentioned that If the diff-lock light in the speedometer module is blinking the spline in the gear case is not meshed. This will cause the engine to control the speed until these items mesh (will misfire and possibly die). The meshing will only occur when the machine is stopped (light will stop blinking). Note-This may not be the cause of your particular problem but the speed limiter may be a place to look.
Very Respectfully,
Sid

RE: Holy Krapp

Thanksgiving was great. Too much food and not enough place to put it. Ha,ha.
I decided not to ride the past few days. Many of the folks from Los Angeles and elsewhere were here in the desert. Approximately 48,000 camped in places such as Redrock Canyon, Wagon Wheel and the like. Sheriff Deputies and volunteers were recruited from Bakersfield and outlying areas to assist in crowd control. Huge roll-off dumpsters were placed in strategic areas to minimize the trash usually dumped in the desert. So far two people killed from stupidity. No seat belts worn in Rhino-like vehicles when roll-overs occurred.
I'll wait until next week so riding will be less hazardous to my health.
